After moving to a new home and completing an interior remodel, our long-time client called on us to organize her into her new home and update her primary garage to match the interior.
Situation: This garage needed to work for a busy family of five. They needed lots of prep space for caterers and the space had to be kitchen-level clean with a refrigerator. In addition, it had to accommodate three cars and gardening supplies. The house also has a “no shoe” policy, so ample shoe storage was key.
Solution: We completely redesigned the garage—and extended the gorgeous modern interior aesthetic. We added cabinetry for catering supplies, extended the counter for prep space, purchased a new refrigerator, and built cabinetry around it. We gave our green-thumb client space for potting and a slatwall for gardening tools. We even designed the cabinetry around the often-used pressure washer. Our clients like to care for their cars themselves, so we created a car wash station near the water spicket. We upgraded the floors, painted the entire room, added ceiling lights, and upgraded the electrical.
Design details: metallic epoxy floors, custom shoe storage under windows and on the stairs, dark Italian laminate cabinetry, butcher block counters, brushed chrome hardware, new paint, maple slatwall and accessories, and pull-out cabinet shelves.
